This is a soundboard recording from the Montreux Jazz Festival held in Switzerland during the summer, just before the release of "Santana III," an album produced after the addition of the young genius guitarist Neal Schon in 1971. This live audio features the highly acclaimed lineup of early Santana, including Neal Schon, Gregg Rolie, and Jose Chepito. As "Santana III" was released in September 1971, this performance serves as a preview live show. The content showcases the incredibly high tension and overwhelming performance of Santana and all band members. Songs from the new album "Santana III," such as "Taboo," "Jungle Strut," and "Toussaint L'overture," are performed, and the setlist is full of highlights, from the poignant melody of the masterpiece "Black Magic Woman / Gypsy Queen" to intense guitar solos.
