Samurai Champloo is a TV series animation broadcast on Fuji TV from 2004 to 2005.
Although it is a period drama action, modern hip-hop culture is incorporated throughout, and the music is exclusively hip-hop, which was unprecedented and gained worldwide attention. The director is Shinichirō Watanabe, who has continued to produce animation with excellent musical sense since "Macross Plus" and "Cowboy Bebop."
The music for this work features four track makers: Nujabes, Fat Jon, FORCE OF NATURE, and Tsutchie, each producing as if it were an original album.
All tracks continue to shine and are considered masterpieces that are still unconditionally spoken of among hip-hop artists today.
