A limited edition 12-inch featuring live recordings from Squid, a band currently dominating the next generation of UK rock! Squid is a five-piece band formed in Brighton, UK, in 2015 while its members were still in university. The band consists of Ollie Judge (drums & lead vocals), Louis Borlase (guitar & vocals), Arthur Leadbetter (keyboards, strings, percussion), Laurie Nankivell (bass & brass), and Anton Pearson (guitar & vocals).
Following the buzz of their debut album "Bright Green Field," which took the UK charts by storm, they are releasing their latest EP "Near The Westway" on Warp, featuring two live tracks!
The EP includes live versions of "2010" and "DFM" from their debut album "Bright Green Field," reinterpreted by the band. This is the long-awaited official release of a work that was先行 released as an ultra-limited edition for Record Store Day 2021 and sold out immediately.
To develop the song arrangements, which were strongly influenced by the minimalist music legend Steve Reich, the band has newly added horns and strings.
