This latest song, released digitally in 2021 and gaining attention, is now available on 7" vinyl with a remix by Keiichi Sokabe! Following their debut album "ほとんど、空" (Almost Empty) released in 2020—which was featured on "Gotchi's 2020 Favorite Playlist," "Pluto," and Sasaki Toshiaki's playlist "The Era of City Pop," attracting notable attention—this is the first analog release by the next-generation indie band.
Formed in 2016 and active in Tokyo, Waterless is a three-member alternative rock band consisting of Inoue Makoto (Vocals/Guitar), Sakurai Haruki (Key), and Komiyama Setsuki (Drums). Their debut album received praise from Kyoho Tatsumi (neveryoungbeach), Seimaru Togo, and Yuga Amakawa (Greece Love), among others, and was selected for the aforementioned playlists. Following that, this work "su-mu" was released. It references Japanese folk music and Asian ethnic music, developing a fresh and unconventional sound approach that contains a philosophical concept—an impactful track!
On the B side, a remix by Keiichi Sokabe, who influenced the band, is included. Based on an impressive chorus part, it features lyrics that evoke summer and a four-on-the-floor beat, transformed into a disco arrangement with a fresh twist.
