Each can be used individually, and when used together, first shape with the coarse green side (1000 grit), then polish with the white side (4000 grit) for a smooth, mirror-like finish.
(1) First, carefully cut off the gate with nippers or a craft knife.
(2) Then, use the green side of the shiner to grind the remaining gate marks to blend with the surface of the part.
If you want a matte finish, the work is complete at this point. (3) Further, using the white side for filing will produce a smooth, mirror-like surface, allowing gate marks to be neatly processed even without painting.
