This is a 2001 USA-made Rickenbacker 4003 in Jet Glo.
This model has been supported for many years as Rickenbacker's representative solid bass, and its appeal lies in its tight, strong core sound due to its unique construction. Compared to current models, this individual has a more classic circuit configuration, giving it a slightly vintage-like texture in its midrange response and tone character.
Therefore, rather than the variable tone control of current models, it has a sound tendency that brings out the more straightforward and direct Rickenbacker character, exhibiting a presence in the mid-high range and a solid low end within a band ensemble.
The neck remains straight, and the truss rod has play in both directions, indicating good condition. The frets have approximately 80% remaining, and the weight is approximately 4.2kg, indicating a standard balance.
This is an instrument with a different feel from current models.
