ベートーヴェンの「運命」 + 「エグモント」序曲 (GS-2256) 、シューマンの交響曲第4番 + ハイドンの同第88番 (GS-2257) に続く、“ステレオ・トランスクリプション"シリーズの第3弾です。今回も未刊行に終わった幻のテスト・プレスから復刻しています。今回のディスクはオリジナル・モノラルと比較すると、R.シュトラウスにふさわしい艶やかな音色が増しています。本物のステレオではないとわかってはいても、つい聴き入ってしまう不思議な魅力に溢れています。
なお、このディスクは LPからの復刻ですので、LP特有のノイズが混入します。あらかじめご了承下さい。
