【Super luxurious collaboration! Argerich & Friends 2021 Live, featuring Angelich’s final performance】
Under the auspices of the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra, the “Martha Argerich Music Festival” has been held at Reischhalle since 2018. The 2020 event was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic (instead, an unaudienceed live stream with Renaud Capuçon was held, featuring a performance of Chopin’s Piano Sonata No. 3, which garnered much attention), and the 2021 live box, which was successfully held, is now available following those of 2018 and 2019. This edition features a lineup of distinguished artists, with notable first-time collaborations such as Mutter, Argerich, and Maisky performing Mendelssohn’s deep works, and a heartfelt Mozart duet by Pires and Argerich. Also noteworthy is the emotional Brahms performance with the late Angelich, recorded here with Causse. The box set includes performances by Papatvrami, Knyazev, Kremer, Bojano, Zilbershtein, and Akiko Suwanai, with concertos conducted by Cambreling with the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra. This box set is dedicated to memories with Angelich.
