After 5 years, the true Royal Albert Hall live recording is finally being released. The "Royal Albert Hall" released in 1998 as the 4th installment of the Bootleg Series was recorded at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester. This was done to follow suit with the pirate recording of "Royal Albert Hall" that circulated in the late 60s, as that was the source of the pirate recording. The recording to be released this time is from May 26th and 27th, 1966, at the Royal Albert Hall, the final performance of Dylan's European tour that year. At that time, Dylan's concerts were divided into acoustic and electric sets, and the booing from folk purists towards the electric set was tremendous, a legendary event that has been spoken of for a long time. This work, valuable as a document of that era, is finally here.
