As part of Queen's ultimate album deep-dive series, "Expanded Collector's Edition," the live album "LIVE MAGIC" has been expanded into the latest collector's edition, "MORE LIVE MAGIC," the second installment. While the first volume, "ANOTHER LIVE MAGIC," focused mainly on the Budapest performance, this edition centers on the Mannheim performance in Germany and Freddie's final live at Nebworth.
The CDs feature the complete soundboard recording of the June 21, 1986, Mannheim performance, originally recorded for broadcast, now remastered from multiple sources, including previously unreleased segments. This is an essential live recording from the last tour, excluding only the Wembley performance officially released.
DVD1 contains footage of Freddie's last live performance at Nebworth during the Magic Tour. Unfortunately, aside from some recordings, no complete footage exists of this historic concert. The only existing footage is audience recordings captured from the venue's screen, which, while not of high quality, is the only complete visual record of the "last live" performance. This release combines this footage with newly restored, higher-quality audience audio sources, resulting in a remastered version that improves both sound and image quality.
DVD2 features the "MAGIC TOUR VIDEO COLLECTION," compiling TV news, reports, and official fragments of the tour, allowing viewers to see the performances across different countries in chronological order. It also includes a full-screen, untrimmed version of the Nebworth performance, using the only remaining soundboard audio source. Additionally, as an extra, rare film footage from the July 5, 1986, Ireland Sleave Castle performance is included. Although fragmentary and incomplete compared to Nebworth, this audience-recorded footage offers a vivid sense of presence and is included as a bonus.
This series continues Queen's "Ultimate Album Deep-Dive Series," making this the second highly anticipated edition of the "Expanded Collector's Edition" of "LIVE MAGIC."
