This is the latest release in the "Ultimate Album In-Depth Study Series" of Queen’s ultimate albums, the "Expanded Collector’s Edition." The final studio album released during Freddie Mercury’s lifetime, *Innuendo* (1991), is presented in two titles: the "ARTIFACTS" edition (2CD + 1DVD) and the "EXTRACTS" edition (2CD + 2DVD).
The first release, the "ARTIFACTS" edition (2CD + 1DVD), features on CD1 all songs remixed and remastered with new versions, as well as instrumental versions of all songs. It is an original edited album that differs from the regular album. CD2 contains instrumental tracks of all songs, including tracks from the interactive media release *The eYe*.
The DVD, consistent with previous series, includes lyric videos for all songs in real-time, with four selectable multi-audio options: remastered stereo, 5.1 surround mix, instrumental tracks, and vocal main tracks, allowing for comparison. It also includes the original analog format (edited versions) used at the time of release, which contains more content than the standard CD due to time constraints.
The *Innuendo* album, released approximately ten months before Freddie Mercury’s death, achieved number one on charts across the UK and Europe, and five singles from the album were released during Freddie’s lifetime. This release is part of the "Ultimate Album In-Depth Study Series," which thoroughly explores the album with all related audio and video materials, making it the ultimate expanded collector’s edition.
