"Shoen Kumihimo," located in Uji, Kyoto, has been manufacturing high-quality silk kumihimo products, including kimono obi cords, since its founding in 1948.
The kumihimo, made on traditional braiding machines, is finished into bracelets by artisans' handwork. The part called "odamaki," a ball-shaped element, serves to secure the loop and also acts as a design accent.
This kumihimo accessory can be worn not only with traditional Japanese attire but also to complement casual Western clothing outfits.
