The punk band "Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät" was formed in 2009 in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, as part of a workshop.
All members have intellectual disabilities. They are responsible for lyrics and composition.
- Pertti, the guitarist, is extremely bothered by the seams of his clothes.
- Kari, the vocalist, wants to be able to cut his own toenails.
- Sami, the bassist, has a crush on a beautiful politician.
- Toni, the drummer, doesn't want to leave his house.
The practice sessions of these four individuals, with their clashing personalities, are anything but straightforward.
Pertti cries when the performance doesn't go well. Kari and Sami often clash and argue.
However, once they take the stage, they deliver powerful and intense performances as if they were different people.
Furthermore, their anarchic lyrics, spun from their own words, surprise and amuse audiences, quickly making them popular in Finland.
In their private lives, Pertti sheds tears when his birthday is celebrated, Kari dreams of living with his girlfriend Sirkka someday, Sami experiences a humiliating failure at a competition, and Toni goes through a mild heartbreak.
The camera meticulously captures their musical activities and daily lives.
