This also applies to "high-pitch short jerks (spiral jerks)," where maximizing the initial speed of the jig and making it rotate horizontally from the start of the retrieve is effective. However, in this case, the retrieve per reel rotation is around 90cm, and fish that are weak to vertical movement may not be able to react to the jig moving instantaneously from bottom to top and may not be able to keep up. This is particularly common with larger, more wary fish. Therefore, a rod was needed that could orient the jig horizontally with a slow tempo of one jerk per second, with a retrieve of 1/3 to 1/4 turn of the handle, or 20-30cm. However, with conventional rod designs, slowly retrieving the reel would turn the jig into a mere weight, making it impossible to create speed variations and causing the jig to not move. A rod that could make the jig move horizontally with a slow tempo and short retrieve was essential. As a result of pursuing a rod that could achieve a quick initial movement and a clear stop, and freely change the jig's speed, the ideal slow jerk rod was completed after the longest development period and the most prototypes in the Poseidon series. Furthermore, achieving such a thin, lightweight, and highly sensitive rod while exhibiting a breaking strength that overturns conventional wisdom was, frankly, an unexpected surprise and joy.
