However, in this case, the retrieve per reel rotation becomes around 90cm, and fish that are weak to vertical movement may not be able to react to the jig moving instantly from bottom to top and may not be able to keep up. This is particularly common with larger, more wary fish. Therefore, a rod was needed that could orient the jig horizontally with a slow tempo of once per second, with a retrieve of 1/3 to 1/4 rotation of the handle per jerk, covering 20-30cm. However, with conventional rod designs, slowly retrieving the reel would turn the jig into a mere weight, making it impossible to create speed variations and causing the jig to not move. A rod that could make the jig move horizontally with a slow tempo and short retrieve was essential... After pursuing a rod that could achieve a quick initial movement and a clear stop, allowing for free control of the jig's speed, we completed the ideal slow jerk rod after the longest development period and the most prototypes in the Poseidon series.
