Controls drag force in response to the fish's pull, preventing the fish from taking the lead. A loose drag setting is effective to leverage this characteristic. While engaging strongly during hooking, this setting, which always applies drag to the fish's pull, allows for landing even large fish without them thrashing excessively.

While maintaining the concept of reducing contact resistance of ABS II, the contact point is moved forward to achieve smoother line release. The effect of the ring being moved forward makes it harder for the line to ride on the ring, improving casting distance by approximately 5% and reducing troubles compared to conventional ABS II. This is truly the next-generation ABS spool that achieves LC (=LONG CAST).
