New rehearsal recordings from Prince's 1987 "Sign o' the Times" tour period are now available! Although the film "Sign o' the Times" was produced based on live performances after the 1987 European tour, and a US tour was not held, rehearsal recordings from November 18, 1987, at Paisley Park, which can be considered virtual rehearsals for a US tour, are now released as a 4-disc collector's edition with the latest remasters from the PGA label! The content also offers glimpses of the following year's "LOVESEXY" tour, and features unique developments of that era, such as a medley of "Love or $" and "Data Bank" from the unreleased song "What's Your Name?". These are essential listening recordings with improved sound quality and pitch correction through new masters. Additionally, studio rehearsals conducted from August to September 1987 are also included. These include rehearsals of covers such as James Brown's "Mother Popcorn," Al Green's "Love and Happiness," Staple Singers' "I'll Take You There," and Sly & The Family Stone's "I Want to Take You Higher," as well as the unreleased songs "The Sex Of It" and "Baby Go Go." These are interesting rehearsals, as all these songs were performed at a club gig in Minneapolis in September.
