This release features the complete concert from August 26, 1986, at Le Zénith in Paris, presented across 2 CDs. It utilizes a stereo soundboard recording, supplemented by audience recordings of exceptional quality for a never-before-released original edit that captures the entire show. This performance is significant, as "It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night" from this concert was later included on his next album, "Sign o' the Times," highlighting the quality of the performance.
Additionally, this set includes incomplete but valuable soundboard recordings from Hamburg (with some parts from Rotterdam) from the same period. Following the release of masterpiece albums like "Around the World in a Day" and "Parade," and the film "Under the Cherry Moon" after "Purple Rain," this 1986 Parade tour performance was highly anticipated. This soundboard recording is a must-have live audio, joining the familiar Stockholm and London recordings as one of the three essential live albums from this era.
The DVD includes existing pro-shot footage of the Paris and Rotterdam concerts. Although these are short highlight reels, they are essential live videos as multi-camera pro-shot recordings.
