The Gardnier organ at Tokyo University of the Arts was built with the concept of being able to perform repertoire from the Renaissance to modern times for educational purposes. Since the style of organs varies greatly depending on the era and region, this concept involved many compromises, but it was based on the Radegast organ, which was a powerful model during the transitional period from Baroque and Classical to Romantic. Therefore, I feel there is a deep significance in performing Liszt’s organ works on this organ.
