東京から蔵見学に来ていただいた小売店の方が蒸留してまだ濾過をしていない焼酎を是非飲んでみたいとの要望から商品化した焼酎です。
昔でいう「どぶろく」で、濾過をかけず焼酎のフーゼル油を多く残すことでお湯割りの際に味に深みが出てさらに奥深い香りが楽しめます。ただ諸刃の刃で、開栓して時間が経過すると油が酸化を始めるので開栓後1カ月以内の消費が目安です。
原料は黄金千貫と黒麹です。

地元山川で栽培される薩摩芋のみを使用して100年以上の歴史を持つ甕を仕込みに使い醸造しています。明治30年創業以来、代々受け継がれてきた和甕（わがめ）による一次仕込みを守り続け、昔も今も田村の焼酎を100年経過する和甕が厳しく優しく見守ってくれています。田村の焼酎造りは、このカメ壷仕込みにこだわりを持っています。
