History of Dice
The prototype of dice is made from the ankle bone (astragalus) of cattle or sheep,
and it is said to be repeatedly excavated as a funerary object from ancient Indus Valley civilization ruins.
And the roots of the regular hexahedral dice are said to be from ancient Egypt and ancient India.
By the time of BC, dice in their current form were already in use.
Later, during the Nara period, they were introduced to Japan from China and came to be used as ritual objects for prayer.
From the Indus Valley civilization, over an incredibly long period and distance heading east...
The dice that we now take for granted are actually the product of a grand history.
