The legendary first visit to Japan by Pink Floyd in 1971 included the outdoor festival "Hakone Aphrodite" over two days, followed by a unique theater performance at the Osaka Festival Hall on August 9, 1971. While numerous live recordings are known to exist from the legendary "Hakone Aphrodite" performance, very few sound sources from the Osaka performance have been confirmed until now. This new, latest stereo remaster sound source, created by a group of overseas Floyd sound source researchers, is now available. Compared to previously known audience recordings, this is an upgraded sound source from a master converted from a low-generation tape. Although the song order differs from the setlist, it is largely similar to "Hakone Aphrodite," with the addition of "FAT OLD SUN" performed at this Osaka show. "ECHOES," which had not yet been officially released at the time, is notable for being a prototype performance with some lyrical differences from its later completed version.
CDs 1 and 2 contain the complete concert performance with the latest stereo remaster sound source. In addition to the 2 CDs, an "Audiophile DVD" is also included. This is an audio disc, not a video recording, but it features DVD-exclusive audio options allowing you to listen to both the latest stereo remaster sound source and the original unremastered sound source. You can switch between them during playback to clearly hear the differences. Although it is not a video recording, it includes a slideshow of numerous valuable photos from the "Osaka Performance" for each song, allowing for enjoyable viewing during playback.
