The solid brass type (the gold-colored one in the photo) has no clear coating on the surface. It is an item designed to be enjoyed as the texture changes over time with use, fingerprints, and environmental factors.
The brass patina processed item is treated with chemicals to alter its surface texture. It is an item designed to be enjoyed for its unique, aged brass appearance, and therefore has no plating or lacquer coating.
As a result, during the manufacturing process, there may be fingerprints, minor scratches, processing marks, cloudiness, or individual differences in texture. The degree of change will vary depending on the season and storage conditions.
Areas that have been in contact with other items (mainly leather, or items containing moisture) are particularly prone to color changes and may cause stains. If you are concerned about dirt, wipe with a damp, well-wrung soft cloth and then immediately dry thoroughly with a dry cloth to keep it in a dry state. Please be aware that if it rubs against clothing or is exposed to moisture or sweat, black stains may transfer to the rubbed item. Please be careful with the edges.
