概要
イメージサークルを23.5x15.7mmのCCDサイズに合わせた小型軽量設計。絞りリングを省いたシンプルなレンズ。AFで合焦後、ピントリングをまわせば直ちにMFに移行する、Quick-Shift Focus Sysytemを採用。
デザイナーのコメント
当社にとって、デジタル一眼レフカメラという製品・市場は非常に重要である。その市場にデジタルカメラ専用のレンズシリーズを新たに投入するということで、市場にインパクトを与えるデザインを目指した。（もちろん カメラボディとマッチすることが前提である）
審査委員のコメント
レンズのイメージサークルを23.5x15.7mmのCCDサイズに合わせ、絞りリングを省き、AFで焦点を合わせた後にピントリングを回すとMFに移行するなど、形態、機能共に、デジタルカメラ専用レンズとして特徴づけられている点を評価した。
