Main features of the HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mmF4.5-5.6ED DC AW: 1. Super telephoto 3x zoom lens When mounted on our K-mount digital single-lens reflex camera, it provides an ultra-telephoto angle of view equivalent to approximately 230~690mm in 35mm format. It is suitable for capturing distant subjects such as wild birds, airplanes, and sports, with a compact design that allows handheld shooting, making it ideal for those who seek good handling. 2. High imaging performance By using three special low dispersion (ED) glass elements and one extremely low dispersion glass element in the latest lens design, it effectively suppresses spherical aberration and chromatic aberration, resulting in high-contrast, minimally color-fringed images. Additionally, the latest optical design compatible with high-pixel image sensors increases MTF compared to conventional lenses in the same class, enabling detailed resolution. Furthermore, the design covers an image circle suitable for 35mm film single-lens reflex cameras, so when mounted on current digital SLR cameras, it delivers sharp, high-resolution images across the entire frame, including the corners, and can accommodate future larger image sensors. 3. Enhanced imaging performance with "HD coating" We adopt our proprietary high-performance multi-coating called "HD coating." Compared to conventional multi-coatings, it reduces reflections and increases transmittance, suppressing ghosting and flare under challenging lighting conditions such as backlighting, and achieving high-contrast, clear images. Note 1: "HD" stands for High Definition. 4. Dustproof and waterproof structure As an "AW (All Weather)" type with a dustproof and waterproof structure that prevents water droplets and dust from entering inside the lens, it features sealing at 21 points overall. When combined with our digital single-lens reflex camera bodies equipped with dustproof and waterproof structures, it enhances durability and reliability in rainy, foggy, or water-splashing environments. 5. Newly equipped quick shift focus system switch To improve convenience, a new set of three switches QFS/A, QFS/M, and MF have been added, allowing switching between autofocus and manual focus without operation. In QFS/A mode, which prioritizes autofocus, manual focus can be performed immediately after autofocus is completed. In QFS/M mode, manual focus can be performed even during autofocus operation. In MF mode, quick switching to manual focus on the lens side is possible, enabling smoother and more accurate focusing depending on the subject. 6. AF buttons installed at four locations To ensure stable AF operation while securely holding the lens, four AF buttons are laid out on the lens barrel at 90-degree intervals, regardless of vertical or horizontal orientation. The AF buttons can be assigned functions such as "Focus preset mode," which stores and recalls registered focus positions, and "AF cancel," which can forcibly fix the focus position during continuous AF.
