The Alexandra Shade is designed not by length or body height, but by combining multiple minnows to create a sense of volume, which is one of the stimuli that triggers fish. With a steady retrieve, the two lures connected by a large range of motion joint synchronize as if swimming in a school. When power is applied with an irregular twitch, the Shade part attached to the back moves in opposition to the main minnow, enticing the fish. In currents, the back part acts as resistance, preventing the lure from being pulled towards the angler and allowing it to drift more naturally in the feeding lane for a longer time.
