- Made from double gauze fabric using the traditional "Washi Sarashi" method, inherited since the Edo period. This involves slowly boiling away oils, impurities, and sizing in a kettle, then rinsing and drying.
- Compared to Western-style bleaching processes that process fabric in about 40 minutes with rollers, the Washi Sarashi method takes approximately 48 hours for the entire process. This gentle treatment prevents stress on the fabric, bringing out its natural texture and resulting in an extremely soft gauze.
- Only about a dozen factories in Japan still possess the traditional Washi Sarashi kettles, making this gauze very rare.
- The more you wash it, the fluffier and softer it becomes.
- Excellent breathability and water absorption prevent heat buildup and stuffiness, making it ideal for pajamas.
- Double gauze weaving provides moderate insulation, ensuring comfort throughout the year.
