About Feng Shui and Wealth
Artist: Soujirou Fujitani (Fujitani Soujirou)
Biography
- Born in 1966 in Hyogo Prefecture.
- Graduated in 1989 from Osaka Designer College, PD Course.
- Worked at an illustration production company before becoming independent in 1994.
- Established S&R ILLUSTRATION in 1995.
- Became a part-time instructor at Osaka Designer College, PD Course, in 1996.
- Changed the business name to S and R (illustrations) in 2005.
- Started selling original works (Giclée prints) in 2011.
- Held first solo exhibition at Heiwa Paper Industry Paper Voice Osaka in 2012.
- Member of JAGDA (Japan Graphic Designers Association).
With over 23 years of experience in commercial advertising illustration, I have worked on over 300 projects including product packaging, catalogs, and posters. My primary technique is analog, realistic illustration. My original works, developed through analog skills, are themed around houseplants and nature, aiming to highlight the importance of environmental issues.
About Giclée (Printmaking)
Giclée (also called digital lithography) is a printmaking technique that uses the latest digital technology. The word "Giclée" (from French, meaning "sprayed with color") refers to the process of directly spraying ink onto print paper, canvas, or other specialized papers based on digital data. It offers extremely high reproducibility, uses pigment inks for excellent lightfastness, and is currently considered one of the most faithful methods to reproduce original artwork.
