A compact-sized lantern that does not take up space
The memorial light with a rotating tube is a mini-sized memorial light. Although it is a set of two (2 pieces), its compact size allows it to be quietly displayed on a Bon shelf or beside a Buddhist altar.
The fire chamber features bright-colored flowers painted on it, giving a cute impression similar to a bonbori, but the top is decorated with a gold chrysanthemum pattern, making it a lantern with presence.
Can be used as a gift for those welcoming Obon or for personal use at home.
A memorial light, as the name suggests, is intended to be displayed in front of the spirits. It can also be used as a post-funeral decoration.
Economical as it can be used for both funerals and Obon over a long period.
Plug-in type for easy lighting
It is a plug-in type using a light bulb. There is no switch, so it can be used immediately after plugging in.
It is also a simple lantern that can be assembled without tools. Please see the video for assembly instructions.
The light is a 'guidepost' for important loved ones
When set with the rotating tube and lit, it creates a more festive atmosphere for Obon.
Obon is an important event where loved ones return home once a year.
Please turn on the lights with the wish, 'Please come back without hesitation,' as you prepare for their return at night.
Product Size
Width 13 × Height 35 (cm), a compact size.
Designed to be displayed on a stand such as on a Bon shelf or a chest, it is easy to place anywhere, giving a sense of portability.
During periods when not in use
It can be stored in the box when not in use.
The outer box size is also compact at width 24 × depth 11.5 × height 29 (cm), making storage easy without taking up space.
Have you prepared for Obon?
Obon is a ceremony to welcome the spirits of ancestors and loved ones who have passed away into this world. It begins with the '迎え火' (welcoming fire) and ends with the '送り火' (sending fire).
At home, lanterns are set as welcoming and sending fires to honor the spirits of ancestors and deceased family members. Since it is a once-a-year event when ancestors return, do your best to show hospitality within your means.
Traditionally,White lanterns for the new Obon, are prepared by the family of the deceased, whilelanterns with painted designs (used annually) are generally prepared by relatives or acquaintances.Recently, due to changes in living environments, the placement and space for display have shifted from Buddhist altars to living rooms and other areas, influencing the way families prepare for Obon, with the family of the deceasedpreparing all lanterns and Bon supplies, while relatives and acquaintances tend to prepare offerings (cash, incense, etc.).
The timing for decorating also varies by household. Although it is centered around the four days from the 13th (the first day of Obon) to the 16th (the last day), many start decorating gradually during the Obon month (July or August) to avoid the rush on the day itself.
Hasegawa responds to various requests regarding Obon offerings and ceremonies.
