Our company began its commitment to "organic" long before the term became widely known in Japan.

In 1988, we started importing organic soybeans certified by OCIA (Organic Crop Improvement Association) in the United States. The following year, in 1989, eleven Japanese traditional products handled by Muso Shoji, including soy sauce, miso, brown rice vinegar, tea, and pickled plums, received the first organic certification in Japan from OCIA, leading to a focus on overseas exports.

Furthermore, in 1990, we began selling OCIA-certified organic coffee, the first of its kind in Japan.

In 2000, the JAS standard for organic products (Japanese Agricultural Standards for Organic Plants and Products) was enacted in Japan, and many companies are now involved in the organic business.
