The 5th and 6th installments of the "Jazz Collection 1000" series, which was highly acclaimed with four releases in 2014 (February, March, September, October: 50 titles each). Similar to the previous four releases, this series will release 100 titles (50 titles in the 5th installment released on October 14th, and 50 titles in the 6th installment released on November 11th) from Sony Music's rich jazz catalog, primarily featuring two major American labels, Columbia and RCA. This collection includes titles that have long been desired for reissue and rare works that are currently difficult to obtain, all at a special price of ¥1,000 + tax (¥1,500 + tax for 2-disc sets). All titles include new liner notes.
A popular album from jazz cafes, featuring drummer Dave Bailey, who was loved by many jazz giants such as Gerry Mulligan, Grant Green, and Chris Connor. The album captures a lively hard bop performance in a relaxed atmosphere, with an audience gathered in the recording studio. Junior Cook, who was part of the Horace Silver Quintet, and Curtis Fuller, who would join the Jazz Messengers the following year, also deliver outstanding performances.
