The second album from the obscure psychedelic project OHHKI! Featuring dreamy funk created using cassette tape MTR, and a member of the cheap, lo-fi hip-hop unit "mess/age" with a unique and singular personality, Kyoto-based musician "Hayashi Taku" leads this highly anticipated second album of the obscure psychedelic project OHHKI (Ōki).
All tracks were recorded using analog equipment, resulting in lo-fi production that seamlessly crosses over elements of psychedelic, dub, funk, and disco, inviting listeners into a blissful utopian soundscape—rich, addictive, and pop-oriented.
This second album, also recorded entirely with analog equipment, draws listeners into OHHKI’s dope and addictive pop world.
The music features an obscure sense of floating, psychedelic melodies, and dub-processed reverberations and residual sounds that spread and layer like the brushstrokes of an impressionist painting. Its undulations resonate with electric guitars, old keyboards with cheap tones, and enchanting vocals, overlapping with the recurring beats of drum machines, painting a canvas in the air. It begins with a hymn to birds, casting spells of surprise and small magic, flowing like water between night and dawn, after being struck by heavy rain. The world is celebrated, captivated by blue, standing within me, ending just a little—like a banana ripening—you find it interesting. A utopia of 13 tracks and 44 minutes. It offers a richly colorful alternative music world where only light exists, the wind blows, and another world unfolds.
