MICRO ACE Private Railway and Third Sector Train
■ The later production model of the Odakyu 5000 Series features minor modifications, with side windows changed to single-step downward windows similar to the 9000 Series, and is also called the 5200 Series.
In preparation for through-running to the Chiyoda Line, production of the dedicated 9000 Series was prioritized, leading to the suspension of production of the main line-only 5000 Series, which was being expanded at the time.
After production of the 9000 Series settled in 1977 (Showa 52), production of the 5000 Series resumed, incorporating the single-step downward windows adopted in the 9000 Series, thus becoming the 5200 Series.
Despite the 9000 Series adopting the advanced magnetic chopper control technology at the time, the resumption of production of the 5000 Series, which used resistance control from an earlier generation, was prioritized to maintain compatibility with existing 5000 and 2600 Series trains.
The 9000 Series was specialized for subway use, and was over-spec for surface operation, which is why the 5000 Series with resistance control was produced again.
Production continued until 1982 (Showa 57), after which further expansions shifted to the redesigned 8000 Series with magnetic chopper control for surface use.

- 4-car set: Car Kuha 5268, Kuha 5255, Kuha 5555 with front coupler BMTN, knuckle-type coupler SP, gray replaced
- 6-car set: Car Kuha 5568 with front handrails replaced with aftermarket parts, only one original handrail included
- Front of Kuha 5568 has a blue stripe and CI mark; side end paint is slightly irregular
