This lantern is decorated with flowers that are hand-painted one by one after applying natural dyeing with silk fabric and plant-based dyes. The design is supervised by the artist "Yuki," who has experience winning awards at the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition.
Since it is a size that does not take up space when placed on the floor for display, it can be easily displayed anywhere, such as on a Bon shelf or on top of a chest of drawers.
Additionally, it is corded (approximately 1.8 meters long), so there is no need to worry about running out of batteries during use.
The lantern has a simple design that does not require assembly, but wiring is necessary. Please watch the video for wiring instructions.

Obon is a traditional event to welcome the spirits of ancestors and close family members who have passed away into this world. It begins with the "Mukaebi" (welcoming fire) to greet the spirits and ends with the "Okuribi" (sending fire) to send them off.
Within the household, a Bon lantern is displayed as Mukaebi and Okuribi to honor the spirits of ancestors and deceased family members. Since it is the time when ancestors return once a year, do your best to show hospitality within your means.

Traditionally,white lanterns for the new Bon (O-bon)were prepared by the family of the deceased, and otherpatterned Bon lanterns (used annually)were prepared by relatives and acquaintances. However, due to recent changes in living environments, the display locations have shifted from Buddhist altar rooms to living rooms and other spaces, leading to a trend where the family of the deceasedprepares all lanterns and Bon supplies, while relatives and acquaintances prepare offerings (cash, incense, etc.).Furthermore, the timing for starting to display varies by household. While traditionally displayed from the 13th (the first day of Obon) to the 16th (the last day), many start decorating in the Obon month (July or August) in advance to avoid the rush on the day itself.
