It is also called "100-day celebration" because it is performed on the 100th day after the baby's birth.
Although there are various theories, it is said to have originated from the "Hashi-hajime no gi" (ceremony of first eating with chopsticks), which began around the 100th day of birth when baby teeth start to emerge, with the wish that the baby "will never be troubled by food" and "will grow strong teeth and develop healthily," and involves pretending to feed the baby food.
