The original manga series "Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo," with over 90 million copies in circulation, sparked a mystery manga boom in Japan since its serialization began in 1992.
In 1995, it was adapted into a drama starring Tsuyoshi Domoto (KinKi Kids), gaining popularity for its horror of mysterious incidents and clever puzzles.
Since then, new leads have included Jun Matsumoto (Arashi) in 2001 and Kazuya Kamenashi (KAT-TUN) in 2005, with the series continuing through changing eras.
In 2013, the fourth generation saw Ryosuke Yamada of Hey! Say! JUMP take on the role of “Hajime Kindaichi.”
In 2013, works set overseas, such as “Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case,” and in January 2014, “Gokumon Juku Murder Case,” were broadcast as special dramas celebrating Nippon Television’s 60th anniversary, for two consecutive years.
Then, in July 2014, it was announced that the series would return as a consecutive drama after 13 years.

【Music】 Akira Miike (Composer, Arranger, Producer)
〈Profile〉Born in 1979, formed the techno rock band “Ippudo.”
Active in a global field alongside YMO, he is a pioneer of Japanese technopop.
After the band disbanded, he started working as a composer.
He has provided music for many songs including Jun Inagaki, Kyoko Koizumi, Hiromi Go, Onyanko Club, Tunnels, and others.
He has received numerous awards, including a composition award. Among his pop-centered works, “Like the Flow of a River” by Hibari Misora (which won the Record Grand Prize for Composition) is notable.
In the 2000s, with advances in electronic technology, the era questioned the merits of analog versus digital sounds in music.
Continuing to create original sounds that seem to freely navigate this boundary, Miike’s style is distinctive and recognizable.
〈Major works〉 Dramas: “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo Hong Kong Kowloon Treasure Murder Case,” “Sushi Ouji!,” “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo Second Series,” “Thursday’s Ghost Stories ‘Mystery Club,’” “Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo First Series”
Films: “Gintama Version Sushi Ouji! ~Going to New York~,” “Love Photography,” “Drowning Fish,” “Keizoku / Movie Beautiful Dreamer,” “Theatrical Version Kindaichi Shonen no Jikenbo Shanghai Fishman Legend,” “Hanako of the Toilet” Stage: Ryukyu Romanesque “Tornado”
