ARCREST II approaches the original depiction power of the lens to the limit

This is a high-performance protective filter that protects your important lens while maintaining minimal impact on images with high optical performance. It is made of high-quality optical glass that is precisely flat-processed, and mounted in the filter frame using Nikon's proprietary "Flat Plane System" mount technology to maintain flatness. It greatly reduces factors that negatively affect optical performance. Additionally, it features the "Zero One AR Coating," an ultra-low reflection AR coating that minimizes reflection variation across the visible spectrum and reduces ghost flare, which can cause color balance disruption and image quality degradation. It provides high image quality comparable to shooting without a filter. Furthermore, a static electricity prevention coating has been applied to the front surface of the filter to reduce dust and dirt attraction caused by static electricity. It is suitable for high-resolution cameras, with minimal impact on image quality, allowing confident use in various shooting scenes.

Based on these foundations, ARCREST II is designed so that approximately 85% of the effective filter diameter maintains a wavefront transmission accuracy of less than λ/4. Nikon's proprietary technology employs the "Zero One AR Coating," a multilayer film AR coating that achieves a single-sided reflectance close to 0.1 across the visible spectrum from 420nm to 680nm. It minimizes reflection variation caused by different wavelengths, greatly reduces color balance disruption, and decreases ghost flare occurrence. By attaching this filter, the reduction in the lens's inherent depiction power is minimized, enabling high-contrast, richly tonal images. It has little to no impact on image quality even in nightscape or star photography.
