My First Encounter with Model Railroading 2 (Video Production: Sakatsu Gallery)
A work by Yoshiaki Ishikawa, popular for his dioramas of cute trains running through a fantastical world.
This work is based on and improved from an exhibit at the Hamamatsu Diorama Grand Prix in 2019. It is a 1/12 scale, dollhouse-sized work, which is rare for Ishikawa.
In the 1950s, model railroad manufacturers sold three-line O-gauge model trains.
Some of the cars were deformed and made of brass or tinplate so that children could handle them, but as toys, they were quite expensive. It seems they were objects of admiration for boys.
This work reproduces such memories of those days with priority given to the image. The cars running in the ultra-compact layout were specially made by Mr. Ishikawa, and the dolls were also made by him with a retro touch, as if they appeared on the cover of a children's book or picture book of the time.
It comes with a clear acrylic case exclusively for beautiful storage and viewing.
※Since it is a handmade work, details may differ.
