福光焼は年に2度、登り窯で薪を焚べて作品を焼き上げます。ゆっくりと時間をかけて焼き上げているので焼き締まりが良く、丈夫に仕上がります。使い込む程に色艶が変化し、雰囲気が変わっていきます。使い込んで器の景色の変化をぜひお楽しみください。
福光焼（ふくみつやき）
私は物作りです。物を作ることが好きで、この道へ入りました。蹴りロクロで水引から焼きあがるまでの作業は、とても大変な仕事です。色、バランス、使い勝手の良さなど、いろいろなことを窯出しするたびに感じております。登り窯から頂くものはとても多いです。いったん窯に火を入れると、一歩も離れられず、窯に命令されるがごとく、薪を投じるのです。作品ができるまでは、いかに引き上げるか、どこでとめるか、膨らませるか、いつもそのことが脳裏を横切ります。一度粘土を焼いてしまいますと、土に還るには程遠い年月がかかります。決して土を粗末にしないことが、粘土を使わせて頂く者のお礼ではないでしょうか。
最初から最後まで仕上げ『育てて』やることが、私の器『子供達』への思いです。焼き上げていく器達が、皆様の心安らぐ生活にお役に立てればと思い、作陶に励むばかりです。
