| Maison Martin Margiela is a fashion brand established in 1988 in Paris, France, created by the Belgian fashion designer of the same name. It offers ready-to-wear clothing for women and men, as well as various accessories and perfumes. Martine Margiela, the founder who has long been responsible for the designs, initially appeared in collections and such, but gradually stopped appearing in public, and very few people in the fashion industry know his true face. He was known as a mysterious figure, even answering magazine interview questions via fax. He retired in 2008 and is no longer involved with the brand. After John Galliano became the creative director, the brand name was changed to “Maison Margiela” in 2015. MM6 Maison Margiela (エムエムシックス メゾンマルジェラ, MM6) is a line within Maison Margiela that creates groups based on concepts and assigns numbers, and is “clothing for ?”. It was also presented together with other lines during the Maison Margiela Paris Collection show. Originally, line 6 “Clothing for Women” (Garment) spun off to create “MM6”. Compared to the collection lines, MM6 features simple and basic items such as T-shirts, cut-and-sew, and denim.
