Best Classics 100 No. 52
★First appearance in Best Classics 100!!
(New Compilation)
*Songs and order of songs are subject to change. Please understand this in advance.
This is a new compilation from 2008 by Fumiaki Miyamoto, who sadly suspended his oboe activities in 2007. While his velvet tone is rarely heard except on CDs and DVDs, this album selects comfortable and relaxing pieces from Sony Music's vast sound sources. Please enjoy the luxurious, beautiful sound of the oboe, which captivated the world, when you want to relax or calm your mind. This is a must-have for Japan's proud oboist.
[DSD Mastering / Rubidium Clock Cutting]
*What is DSD (Direct Stream Digital)?
: A recording and mastering method that converts analog signals into high-speed 1-bit digital signals using a delta-sigma modulator and records them directly.
Compared to the PCM method used in conventional CDs, it reproduces a simpler and more natural music signal, allowing for the reproduction of even the air of the music, close to analog signals.
In "Best Classics 100," this "DSD Mastering" was adopted for all titles to improve sound quality during the previous series release (2000).
This time, for even higher quality sound, we have adopted "DSD" and "Rubidium Clock Cutting" for all titles.
*What is Rubidium Clock Cutting?
The master clock is the reference signal for digital equipment. Digital audio has evolved into high-bit and high-sampling rates, becoming increasingly high-performance, and the amount of digital data continues to grow. The time accuracy for reading and writing this data depends entirely on the oscillation of this master clock.
Master clocks typically use crystal oscillators, which are also used in clocks, but their accuracy is around 10^-4 to 10^-6.
With the recent increase in the volume of digital data, master clocks with higher precision have become necessary, and professionals have begun using rubidium or cesium as clock sources instead of crystal oscillators.
The accuracy of rubidium is 10^-9, which is extremely high compared to crystal.
By performing high-precision cutting using this rubidium master clock, sound quality faithful to the master is reproduced.

Media Reviews, etc.

This is a best-of album featuring comfortably relaxing songs selected from the sound sources left by oboist Fumiaki Miyamoto, who ended his oboe activities in March 2007, from Sony Music. (C)RS
