Born in Ashikaga City, Tochigi Prefecture, in 1924.In 1943, studied under calligrapher Keisei Iwasawa.In 1954, held his first solo exhibition in Ashikaga City.Since then, held exhibitions featuring works created with "his own words and his own calligraphy" in various locations.In 1984, the publication of "Ningen Damono" brought wider recognition to his works.On December 17, 1991, he passed away in Ashikaga City at the age of 67.In September 1996, the "Aida Mitsuo Museum of Art" opened in Ginza, Tokyo.In May 1997, the Nippon Television series "Shitteru Tsumori ~Isshō Kandō Isshō Seishun~" was broadcast.In November 2003, the museum was relocated to the Marunouchi Tokyo International Forum in Tokyo.In 2011, the 20th anniversary of his passing and the 15th anniversary of the museum's opening were celebrated.
