The Hachimarum Magnum is finally awakening. The X-80, affectionately known as "Hachimarun" and a staple that continues to dominate the saltwater scene, has now conquered not only Japan's saltwater fishing but also European barramundi fishing, and in recent years, tidal tournament fishing in Oceania. In the world of seabass fishing, its name alone signifies a "Living Legend," consistently delivering undeniable results.
Now, Yuki Ito, the creator of the Hachimarun, and Masanori Muraoka, a frontier angler who recognized its potential and was an early proponent of its use in saltwater, have teamed up again to develop a new legend. Inheriting the overwhelmingly "secret to catching fish" that the Hachimarun possesses, its form, logically derived through masterful body packaging, is truly that of the original Hachimarun.
However, its body length has been significantly increased, generating an extremely "bait-like movement" and an unprecedented "stimulating wave" that leaves behind the common sense actions of seabass lures exceeding 100mm.
The casting performance, which is negatively affected by the air resistance value acting on the wide body volume, is where shiner-type lures have struggled against slim minnows. To address this, the new Hachimarun has succeeded in achieving overwhelming long casting ability through the audacious, next-generation Megabass technology of simultaneously moving three newly developed ultra-small diameter, ultra-high specific gravity tungsten balancers in a "triple center of gravity instantaneous movement."
The code name "80" of the X-80 simply represented its 80mm length, but this new Hachimarun is 115mm. Upon seeing it, Muraoka immediately declared, "No, let's stick with 'Hachimarun' this time too. This is the 'Hachimarun Magnum'."
Indeed. This "80" is the culmination of the dream of two legends, designed to relentlessly catch giant seabass exceeding 80cm. The Hachimarun Magnum is finally awakening.
