The Light Wet Style can be adapted for any type of fishing. Instead of being confined to a specific category, Light Wet Style gear is versatile enough for all fishing situations with just one set. Unlike waders, it is designed for fishing where water entry is expected, making it unsuitable for mid-winter fishing. However, once the water temperature exceeds 20°C, you can enjoy comfortable fishing with the Light Wet Style. The Light Wet Style is envisioned for shore fishing targeting flat-breasted sea bass, yellowtail amberjack, and bigfin reef squid, as well as rockfishing. It is also suitable for fishing on surf and lagoons, and for use in mountain streams and main rivers. In fact, its usage is entirely up to you!
Wet Style involves wearing neoprene, which offers excellent heat retention and impact resistance, without compromising mobility even when submerged in water. The tight silhouette minimizes resistance from water flow. Furthermore, mazume's wet tights are made from highly stretchable neoprene fabric, making it easy to step on rocks for crossing or to perform high casting techniques.
The standard Light Wet Style consists of Light Wet Tights, Long Wet Socks, knee pads, and wading shoes. While the knees of the tights are reinforced, double reinforcement is achieved by using knee pads. The Long Wet Socks enhance impact absorption and heat retention in the lower legs (especially the shins, which often make contact), and are worn to prevent small stones from entering the wading shoes (and also to prevent laces from coming undone).
