This product was developed after extensive field testing in the Chiba Prefecture Sotobo area, a prime location for yellowtail amberjack. It is a metal jig designed to match the Sotobo fishing style, which primarily utilizes diagonal (sideways) retrieves. Catches have been confirmed not only for yellowtail amberjack throughout the spring, summer, autumn, and winter, but also for other bluefish such as sanpaku (young yellowtail amberjack), warasa (adult yellowtail amberjack), and greater amberjack, as well as red sea bream, longtooth grouper, flatfish, and dogtooth tuna.
The shape of the jig is varied by size to suit different usage scenarios. Lighter sizes have a higher body profile to increase appeal and retrieve resistance. Conversely, heavier sizes have a slimmer shape with a reduced body profile to minimize retrieve resistance, considering their use in deeper waters. The 170g model is a frequently used weight in the Sotobo area for targeting warasa and yellowtail amberjack in deeper points, with a recommended depth of 30m to 70m.
**Recommended Tackle:**
* **Rod:** A strong jigging rod, 6 to 6.5 feet in length. (Rods lacking strength may make it difficult to control the jig's movement, cast, or cause line tangles during casting.)
* **Reel:** High-gear spinning reel, size 8000.
* **Line:** PE line, size 3. Leader: Fluorocarbon, size 12 (40lb), 2 to 4Hiro in length.
* **Hook:** Super Akiya G Strong, size 24. Assist line: 3.5cm. (Hooks that are excessively thick are not recommended as they can hinder bite uptake and impede the jig's action.)
* **Rings:** Split ring, size 6.5-7. Solid ring, size 5.5-6.
