イカエギの歴史をたどれば、もともとは漁で使っていた松明の欠片と言われます。本製品は防湿性と腐りにくさが特徴である桐材を使い、伝承される色や形に近づけた烏賊餌木です。
浮力や沈降姿勢など、できるだけの調整は施してありますが、木材の特性上、生産数量のすべてを均一にすることはできません。
装着済みの鉛の角をニッパー等でカットしたり、糸鉛を装着するなど、お使いになられる方がお好みに調整できるのが木製烏賊餌木の最大の特徴とも言えます。
