Marble Bathroom Series Brush Stand
Since ancient times, humans and stone have had a close relationship. Stone was considered sacred, believed to house gods, or used as personal ornaments like magatama. While wooden architecture is mainstream in Japan, stone buildings have been common overseas, such as in Europe, since long ago. This may be because they were built with the intention of being lived in for hundreds of years and across generations.
There are many buildings made of marble, with famous examples including the Parthenon in ancient Greece, the Colosseum in Rome, and the Taj Mahal in India. Marble sculptures are also abundant in Europe, and the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo left behind numerous works made from marble. Natural marble is also known to be exceptionally expensive among stones.
It possesses a unique, deep luster and an unparalleled sense of luxury, exuding an atmosphere reminiscent of overseas luxury hotels.
It is carved from a single piece of stone, creating beautiful curves, and hollowed out from the inside. There are no seams whatsoever. The surface is polished to a very smooth finish, giving it a natural luster.
As this is a small product, no special maintenance is required, but for your reference, here is information on handling natural marble.
Marble is not particularly resistant to water, so please avoid immersing it in water or wiping it excessively with a wet cloth. It is also weak to acids, so please be cautious with chemical detergents. These can cause stains or dull the luster. Also, do not rub it with hard objects like scouring pads.
Furthermore, it goes without saying, but as it is natural stone, it will crack or chip if dropped or struck.
The natural marble used is quarried in the town of Tulungagung on the island of Java, Indonesia. It is called Cream Marble, is very beautiful, and has excellent strength.
