The product name "Kokomogu" is a "developmental cutlery" set of a baby spoon and fork.
"Kokomogu," a training baby cutlery for the stage before holding chopsticks, has a design with indentations on both sides and the top, allowing for a natural pencil grip with the thumb, index finger, and middle finger, making it a baby cutlery set that facilitates the transition to chopsticks.
The stainless steel tip is made in Tsubame-Sanjo, and the handle (ABS resin and silicone rubber) is made in a factory in Japan, making it a purely Japanese-made product.
It is produced with a focus on safety and security, adhering strictly to being 100% made in Japan.
We developed the product in collaboration with public health nurses who are experts in food education, resulting in an easy-to-use product that fits the hand and mouth size of Japanese children.
"Finger grip is very important." It is said that the way infants (babies) hold spoons and forks progresses in the order of palm grip from above (1 year old), finger grip pinching from above with the thumb and index finger (1 to 2.5 years old), and pencil grip (from late 2 years old onwards).
Once the "finger grip" is achieved, the transition to "pencil grip" becomes smooth, approaching the finger posture for holding chopsticks in the future.
However, achieving this important "finger grip" is currently difficult with regular spoons and forks.
This product, [Kokomogu], is developmental cutlery for holding chopsticks in the future, designed so that the thumb, index finger, and middle finger can naturally rest for a smooth "finger grip," further leading to a finger posture close to a pencil grip and chopstick grip.
"Developed with active public health nurses." Public health nurses are like total coordinators who support child-rearing.
We developed the product together with active public health nurses.
We consulted with public health nurses knowledgeable in child development and food education about what kind of spoon and fork would be optimal for practicing the stage before holding chopsticks, and what shape would smoothly lead to a "pencil grip" posture. We proceeded step by step towards the completion of the product, with the cooperation of questionnaires from mothers and fathers with children aged approximately 1 to 2.5 years old.
"Tsubame-Sanjo products, famous for metalworking." The stainless steel parts of the spoons and forks are made by artisans in "Tsubame-Sanjo," a city famous for metalworking.
Tsubame-Sanjo products have a superior level of finishing, and even small products like baby spoons and forks are finished one by one with great care.
The techniques passed down in this city of artisans, which dates back to the Edo period, are further refined and still alive today.
The parts that come into direct contact with a child's (infant, baby) mouth are made in the traditional Tsubame-Sanjo, ensuring high safety, and the entire product, including the handle, is made in Japan (100% domestically produced).
"Supervised by a dentist." Along with food education, "oral education" is said to be important.
By properly engaging in oral education, it is expected that teeth alignment and bite will be improved, reducing the risk of future dental treatments.
Furthermore, oral education is said to have a positive impact on language development and overall health.
It is important to use proper cutlery (spoons and forks) for oral education.
Kokomogu is used by many children as cutlery suitable for oral education, under the supervision of dentists.
"Meets high safety standards." As it is a product that comes into contact with a child's (infant, baby) mouth, high safety is required.
The baby cutlery (spoons and forks) of [Kokomogu] has passed the tests required by the Food Sanitation Act, and has also undergone and passed public food sanitation safety tests.
We provide highly safe products as they do not contain any substances or additives harmful to health.
Furthermore, as all product materials are made in Japan and manufactured in Japan, making it "100% Japanese-made" baby cutlery, everyone involved with the product, including manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers, prioritizes safety, and we declare that no unnecessary impurities are included in the product materials.
