Handcrafted from eight carefully selected types of exotic woods from around the world. It features a gentle curved design born from the playful creativity of Japanese calligraphy brush artisans. The streamlined shape has been carefully carved to fit comfortably in the hand.
● Maple Wood (楓 / メープルウッド)
It is said that the name "Kaede" (maple) originated from the word "Kaerude," which was called something resembling a frog's hand. The tree is famous for its beautiful autumn foliage and is considered a leading type of Japanese maple.
The wood is extremely hard and densely grained, giving it a silky luster and making it resistant to scratches, with excellent durability. Over time, it develops a deep, beautiful amber color. Rarely, wavy grain patterns (shibumi) or bird's eye patterns (bird's eye maple) may appear, which are highly valued.
It is very hard and used in various applications such as interior building materials, furniture, and high-end musical instruments.
