He is a certified Traditional Craftsman of Kyoto Armor by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. To this day, he is one of Kyoto's leading armor masters, having exhibited and received high acclaim at numerous exhibitions, including the National Craftsmen Convention.

This is arguably the most famous of the armor pieces designated as National Treasures owned by Kasuga Taisha Shrine in Nara Prefecture.
Intricate decorative metal fittings, based on bamboo, tigers, and sparrows, with added motifs of wisteria, paulownia, chrysanthemums, and butterflies, are placed throughout. The large kuwagata helmet spreading widely overhead is breathtaking. The crimson silk threads still retain a fiery red color, and its splendor is known as one of Japan's foremost examples. The large decorative metal fittings on the large sleeves, featuring the "bamboo and tiger" design that gives the armor its name, are particularly striking. The humorous expression of the tiger, in contrast to the sharp eyes of the many sparrows, is also interesting. Many armor masters use this national treasure as a model, study it, and present replicas to the world.
